Welcome to the Knox Centre Theatre Collective!

The Collective is a volunteer grass roots group providing a space where ideas can be work-shopped before they go to performance. The idea is to build material from what is happening around us and what we see as problems that need to be discussed. Our goal is to create a home grown production each year as well as the Just Acts Play Festival.

We are a not for profit theatre group presenting plays with a social justice theme.

PLays on Freedom

Just Acts Play Festival 2013

 Examining Freedom

This coming year the Knox Centre Theatre Collective would like to examine what freedom means to you.

Just Acts Play Festival is an annual event aimed at exploring different areas of daily life and examining how people cope with disruption and conflict. Each year a topic is chosen and writers are invited to submit plays to be included in the festival.

The topic for 2013 will be Examining Freedom.

Details:

The Festival performance dates are: February 6-10/2013

Deadline for play submission is October 15/2012

  • The plays must be no longer than 30 minutes in length
  • Scripts must be original and unproduced
  • Sets must be kept to a minimum
  • Plays will be chosen to offer as much variety as possible
  • A committee will decide on the plays and the running order
  • All plays will perform every night

This is an opportunity for budding writers, actors and directors to be involved in a wonderful project. So if you are interested in submitting a play let us know.
